Psychological Student Societies in Ireland

The committee of the Psychological Society 2002/2003, a highly enthusiastic
and well meaning bunch, aim to create a strong society in which firm
friendships may be forged and psychology in all its forms is promoted
and projected to as broad an audience as possible. The only requirements
for membership are an interest in psychology (whether mild or intensely
passionate!) and an eagerness to meet others and engage in a wide range
of activities incorporating both the serious side of psychology, and
the light-hearted social side, both equally interesting and enticing!
We have an exciting schedule planned for the coming year, from frequent
guest speakers and riotous table quizzes, to the annual trip to the
Congress of Psychology Students in Ireland , to be held in March.
Already, we have established an informal weekly meeting every Monday
night in Monroe 's, Dominick St. - everybody and anybody who has an
interest is most welcome to attend. It is our great pleasure to welcome
you to the very first website of the Psychological Society of NUI, Galway
. We encourage all members to take an active role in establishing the
society as a true part of life in NUIG. Any comments and suggestions
are always welcomed. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank fellow
committee members for their unflagging commitment and optimism. We might
be a little slow starting up but we'll get there yet guys! Thanks are
also due to staff and students for their support and encouragement.
Here's to success this year and for many more to come!

University College Dublin
Psych Soc
We are the all-powerful Committee of the Psychology Society that represents
all undergraduates and postgraduates studying psychology here in University
College Dublin. Our main aim is to bring the psychos together in a wide
variety of shindigs, box socials and gatherings of only barely psychological
relevance. Then we can all can get to know each other better. Ah.
Running the show are the diligent members of the PsychSoc committee,
elected from the students currently studying Psychology here. These
are the tireless men and women that are behind the organization of PsychSoc
and it's events. Here are the pictures and e-mail address of this years
PsychSoc committee.

PsychSoc
The NUIM Psychological Society was just founded this academic year 2003/2004. As a relatively new department it took us a few years to find our feet but with one group of graduates already, it’s time that we made our presence felt within the student body! Until now, psychology students and like-minded individuals have had no forum within our university. We aim to change all that and to provide a fun and informal social setting for individuals with a common interest – psychology!
We have already run a number of social events (not least the Christmas Party!) as well as some careers talks in conjunction with the careers advisory office. As the society develops we hope to have more regular meetings and guest lectures. Watch this space….
We have recently produced a website so please visit us at www.psychsoc.org

Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick Psychology Society
The MIC Psychology Society was set up in 2005 and provided its members with access to very good resources. Studying Psychology can be very demanding and the main aim of the society is to provide help, assistance and some fun (nights out/excursions/workshops) for its members.
