The PSI Diploma

A major review of the Society's Professional Diplomas in Psychology (Clinical and Educational) has been undertaken. Submissions were sought and received from a wide range of interested parties including current trainees and graduates, members of the Diploma Management Committee, members of the Board of Examiners and supervisors. Meetings were also held with interested parties.

A report of the Review Group was presented to Council in December 2005 and has been accepted. A summary of this report can be found in the Members Only Section of our website, www.members_only_index.asp. The report recommended that the Society should aim to have all professional training carried out by universities, and that the Society should only continue to run training courses itself in so far as this aim cannot be achieved. Intake to the Diplomas has therefore been suspended for the foreseeable future.

If you are interested in postgraduate courses in Clinical or Educational Psychology, a list of accredited courses can be found at the following link, www.accred_postgradlist.asp.

Update from the Director of Professional Development (Irish Psychologist, October 2006)

The forms available here are for the use of current Diploma trainees only.
